C. & P. S.

Some American teens & school children who are curious about life here in Indonesia have been asking us questions via email. We thought we would respond to these questions on our blog. Our fourteenth response is to Aleah Brown:

No, Aleah isn’t quite old enough to ask questions, but if she was, we bet she would ask, “What do the kids in Jambi do when they are not in school?”

Thanks for the question, Aleah! We would be happy to respond…. The boys are frequently flying kites. At any time of the day you can see boys flying kites, and the sky always has several of them. Some day the sky is full of them.

For the girls, most of them have responsibilities helping their mothers, like cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and watching their younger sisters or brothers. The very young girls do have a little more play time than the older girls.
