The below video shows our neighbors during the Islamic celebration of Idul Adha. This sacrifice took place in Tanjung Pinang, which is located on the east side of the City of Jambi on the island of Sumatra. This is a little late getting on our blog, because the date of Idul Adha was Nov. 17, 2010.

After the sacrifice the animals were butchered, then distributed among the people in the community. Yes, we did buy a goat for our community this year, just like last year, but the goat was considerably smaller. Almost everything in Jambi is more expensive than on the island of Java.

This is a graphic video of slaughtering of animals.
