Construction of a Mosque Dome

Dome Construction

One the north shore of the Batanghari River, in the City of Jambi, there’s a mosque that went through a renovation during the past year. The renovation included the removal of the traditional roof and the installation of a domed roof (kubah).

Finished Construction

It was very interesting to observe the manufacturing process, from the sections of the dome that was formed from fiberglass and cement, to the actual lifting of the pieces into their position. The location of this mosque can be found by clicking this link.
