Kajang Lako

Replica of the legendary boat Kajang Lako.
In this picture it’s tied up on the north shore of the Batanghari River in the City of Jambi, with the City of Jambi in the background. The boat is used for tourists.

Kajang Lako is a famous boat in several of Jambi’s legends.

The boat was said to have been used by Orang Kayo Hitam and his wife, Mayang Mengurai, while they traveled down the Batanghari River in search of where they would build their new kingdom.

This replica was built on dry land to be used as an emblem of Jambi’s legendary roots. It’s currently awaiting repairs.
