(Competitive Fishing Location)
We previously wrote about Pemancingan R & R and Pemancingan Telaga Jati, two competition fishing locations in the City of Jambi. We recently learned of two other locations where fisherman can go to compete, and both fishing ponds are located within a 1 mile distance of each other. One being in the village of Bajubang Darat and the other in the Village of Sumber Sari (on the road between Tempino and Muara Bulian). These two fishing locations operate very similar to the fishing pools in the City of Jambi that we mentioned above. With the villages of Bajubang Darat and Sumber Sari being located within a 1 mile radius, these fishing pools are easy to find—just ask anybody along the main road for their exact locations.
(Click on Pemancingan R & R and Pemancingan Telaga Jati (above) to learn how these competitions are conducted.)
Pemancingan Lesehan Adit
The competition fishing pool located on the east side of Bajubang is called Pemancingan Lesehan Adit. This pond is owned by Pak (Mr.) Fiktor Gulo (from the island of Nias). The name “Lesehan Adit” is the name of Mr. Fiktor’s grandchild.
Pemancingan Sumber Sari Kuali Pecah
This competition fishing pool located in the Village of Sumber Sari is owned by Pak (Mr.) Paiman (64 year old Javanese). Pak Paiman had his pond dug and commenced fishing competitions there a little over 2 years ago. He informed us that his investment for digging the pond with heavy equipment was 50 juta ($5,173). The name of his fishing pond is Pemancingan Sumber Sari Kuali Pecah.
As with most other fishing ponds, ikan emas (carp), bawal, and patin are the fish this pond is stocked with.
