We’re not avid golfers, but since there will be golfers coming to Jambi as tourists from time to time, we thought we would prepare this information on their behalf.

GolfingThe city’s only driving range is on the south east side of the city. It’s location can be found by clicking this link.

To get the information about this driving range we spoke with Sergeant Tyas, the supervisor of the range. The local military detachment (Komando Resor Militer (Korem) 042 / Garuda Putih) is the owner and manager of this driving range.

(TNI – Tentara Nasional Indonesia— Indonesian National Armed Forces), and specifically the Indonesian Army (TNI AD – Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat).

Information About the Driving RangeSwing

  • The range was opened in 2003.
  • The length of the field is 200 meters (656 feet / 218 yards).
  • There is a small putting area behind the range.
  • Hours of operation: 6am – 11pm.
  • There is no clubhouse, proshop, or restaurant / canteen at the sight, but outside the gate there are a number of small roadside stands that sell food and drinks (non-alcoholic).

Cost

  • Entry fee: during daylight hours when lights are not needed— Rp35.000 ($3.62 USD).
  • Entry fee: after dark—Rp40.000 ($4.14 USD).
  • You can rent clubs for Rp50.000 ($5.17 USD), or you may bring your own.
  • A bucket of 100 balls: Rp.20.000 ($2.07)
  • Caddy (who will set your balls on the tee—eliminating you from having to bend over): Rp20.000 ($2.07).
