Don’t Use the Foot Bridge Over the Road

Leading to the Park

There are several varieties of monkeys in the park.

There is parking for cars on the east side of the park, on the other side of the busy road. There has conveniently been a foot bridge built from the parking lot, up and over the busy road, and onto the hill where the park is located. After parking our car and walking up the stairs to that bridge, we were very scared because we felt as though we were going to fall through the rotten metal flooring onto the busy traffic below (a 6 meter drop / 20 feet). Then when we got to the end of the bridge, and were entering the park, we found that the gate on the bridge was locked. We had to climb up and over the side of the fence to get off the bridge. We asked the security guard why the gate was locked, and he said that it was because the bridge wasn’t safe. We don’t know why they didn’t have a gate on the opposite side, at the car parking, so people wouldn’t go up the bridge. We suppose locals know the bridge isn’t safe, but since we were visitors, we were completely unaware.

We recommending you parking your car in the driveway at the entrance of the park, instead of over in the car parking lot. It is too dangerous trying to cross the road on foot because the vehicles won’t slow down for you.

The bridge over the heavily trafficed road is unsafe to cross. There is a gate on the park side, but on the parking lot side of the road there is no indication that the bridge is unsafe, nor that the opposite end has a locked gate.

Park your car in the driveway on the right. Don't use the parking lot on the left, and don't use the bridge over the road--it is very unsafe. There aren't many people who visit this park (zoo), so you won't be blocking any traffic by using the driveway.
