Taman Indah Lestari Talang Kawo
(Name of a park, south of the City of Bangko.)
Approximately 4 km south of the City of Bankgo is an interesting park that has a children’s playground, swimming pool, pond for fishing, as well as paddle boats. It also has a band platform on the the edge of the pond.
Taman Indah Lestari Talang Kawo was opened in 2000 and is privately owned by a 75 year old gentleman who originated from the City of Palembang, Bapak (Mr.) Haji M. Ansori Dani. Mr. Ansori spent 30 years in the Indonesian military, and after he retired he settled on this land south of Bangko and began plans to open this park. Mr. Ansori told us that his dream is to continually educate children about their culture so as to preserve it. He wants to use this park to facilitate his dream.
With the location of the park being on possibly the highest elevated piece of land around Bangko, the view of the surrounding area is phenomenal. From the lower elevations the many hills and mountains can’t be seen, but from the higher elevation the view is fascinating.
