The Reincarnation of Putri Ayu

It was said that the crocodile was a Tomistoma schlegelii (a type with a long pointed snout.

It was said that the crocodile was a False Gharial, orĀ  Tomistoma Schlegelii (the crocodile which has a long pointed snout). This picture was taken at a crocodile breeding farm in Jambi.

We came upon an interesting event that took place in February 2009, and it was what is believed by many to have been the reincarnation of a famous Jambi personality, Putri Ayu.1

Fourteen kilometers to the south of the City of Jambi, starting from the intersection known as Simpang Abadi, is a personally owned crocodile farm that is specifically used for harvesting crocodile skins.

Living With Geckos (cicak)

One of the last geckos taken out of our home.

Most people consider geckos as being cute little creatures, having been made famous by the Geico Auto Insurance commercials. They may be considered cute, as long as they don’t jump / fall on you, don’t run across your feet, or leave their droppings in your spoons as they sit in the dish strainer!

LIZARD ON OUR FRONT PORCH

A couple of weeks ago we noticed a very interesting visitor on our front porch. It was a lizard, which we think was an Iguana. You reptile experts out there can feel free to correct us if it isn’t. We had an Iguana as a pet for a period of time in the US, and it looked very similar.
